Following up from their hit feature collaborative film they rustled up for one of my dumb Heinous Whining streams RURYKGUSSETGIBLETBRIANGIBLETBRIANGUSSETRURYKGUSSETRURYKGIBLETBRIANBRIANBGUSSETRURYKGIBLET kicks off with what you’d expect from the pair. Utterly deconstructed rock n roll DNA guitar shred and riff out, straight-from-the-belly howls and yowls and drums hitting the back of your head. The “normal” (??) harsh edits of the duo's hyper-energy expressiveness is very FUN! Intense pogo about rock straight from the soil.

New terrain emerges as the pair flex their respective chops. They know how to do it and they know that you know they know how to do it…but what if they did this?? Strummed chords? Bird song? Sinister ambience? The whole thing sounds like a field recording and a sci-fi sound effect youtube playlist. It’s hard to tell if it’s merely the reigning in of the guitar but the shite-in-a-room rock realism has given out into…something??? It’s still shite in a room but I’m less sure the rooms a room anymore. With two solo pieces from each also refusing to not be a surprise I think they’re just showing off at this point.

RURYKGUSSETGIBLETBRIANGIBLETBRIANGUSSETRURYKGUSSETRURYKGIBLETBRIANBRIANBGUSSETRURYKGIBLET delivers on both fronts. Handing over what’s expected and then taking it away, and showing what an idiot you even were for just wanting that when they can do way more…
